I began writing this blog as a way to record my progress renovating an old Dolls House Emporium Classical dolls house which I built from a kit in the 1980's. It has now evolved into a blog about my ever increasing collection of dolls houses and the items I buy and make to put in them.

Hope you enjoy it.

More Painting

Have finally finished painting the balcony's and internal supports in white. Had to do 3 coats (on all sides) to get a good finish but it was quite cheap paint. If I ever do another house I will use one coat paint instead. My next job is to oak varnish 6 windows, 3 side doors and all architraves, 3 Patio Doors, the spiral staircases, balcony sides, railing posts and edging. OMG not sure if this house was such a good idea after all.

Went into a Sue Ryder charity shop in Aberdeen for the first time yesterday (DS was not impressed) and managed to get some bargain modern dh furniture & accessories.
The best bargain was the modern cream kitchen set with opening doors and drawers reduced from £18.99 to only £4.49.
Also found a corner shower unit and modern light fittings for half price.
And just had to buy this miniature tool set as it was only 50p.
Although all the modern furniture and accessories will eventually be going in my new house I couldn't resist putting them into my old 'Classic' house meantime. This house is now a mixture of old and new furniture but isn't that just like most real homes these days anyway ;).
