I began writing this blog as a way to record my progress renovating an old Dolls House Emporium Classical dolls house which I built from a kit in the 1980's. It has now evolved into a blog about my ever increasing collection of dolls houses and the items I buy and make to put in them.
This is my 1/12th scale witches house which I finished just in time for Halloween.
It is a little Sid Cooke house which I bought locally for just £20.
I dirtied up the outside brick paper a little bid with watered down black acrylic paint, added acetate to the windows and glued on some door fittings.
This is the before and after.
The inside had already been stripped out and the stairs were missing so I decided to not bother with stairs and just filled in the gap with a piece of mdf.
I then decorated it and furnished it.
This is the living room, I made the fireplace from mount board and papered it with brick effect wallpaper. The fire surround was made from offcuts of wood. The painting above the fire is called The Witches Kitchen by Frans Francken the Younger c1610 which I just printed from the internet and put in a suitable frame.
I bought a battery powered flashing red bulb for the fire.
The witches are made by Dettas-Darling-Dolls on Ebay.
The spell books on the shelf were made by me.
I also made the potions in the jars.
This is the bedroom, I hand painted most of the furniture and made the bedding.
